The design here is to get the forward to draw a covering defenseman deep when skating with the puck into the attack zone.
The forward charges along the boards as if to go into the corner, but makes a Gretzky tightly around the cone and passes to the second forward coming down the slot.
This drill should be done on both sides of the ice. Players switch lines after running through it.
Puck carrying forward charges in the corner on slot side of the cone in the corner.
Support forward towards the middle of the ice.
Puck carrier makes a quick tight circle outwards towards the boards, around the cone.
Puck carrier keeps head up looking for the slot pass.
Support forward charges down center of ice towards the slot.
Pass is made to the slot.
New puck carrier takes a shot on net. Look for the open part of the net when shooting, not the goalie.
After the shot, both skaters crash the net looking for a rebound.
