This is an introduction of the basic breakout pattern.
The winger is in place on the boards, the defense rims the puck to the winger while the center swings down and receives a breakout pass.
Timing of the center's skating is important
Wingers can practice receiving a pass off the boards, in the skates etc.
Now the defense moves up to try the winger position, the winger moves to the centre position and the next player in line becomes the passing defenseman
Two pucks could be in motion at the same time once the players get the drill
After 5 minutes, switch sides.
